This simple demonstration of applying sunscreen on black construction paper effectively shows the importance of usage. There are very little materials needed for this activity, and can be used in conjunction with the science curriculum. It can also be upscaled from pre-school level to even middle school levels. Pre-K would be able to notice the difference between the sunscreen covered areas and the un-covered areas. Elementary-middle schoolers can apply the scientific method. High schoolers can look at the chemical compounds that reflect UV waves, such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, inorganic compounds.
